It's pouring outside!
I spent the past week and a half putting together my wedding invitations. I had to make 70. It almost killed me. Some of these pics are pretty boring, but bear with me.

Envelope with label!

Back of envelope with return address.

The invite!
It's 4 layered deal that is hand sewn with jute twine across the top. I had to hand punch all 4 layers. I was pretty much hating life. The top layer is a card with our generic info. The second layer is an RSVP fold-over postcard that is perforated so that people can tear it out and send it back to us. The third layer is venue info. printed on vellum, and the fourth layer is just a blank piece of card stock to sturdy it up.
It also comes with a mini-photo strip of us that has our registry info on the back (all the wedding sites say it's tacky to include registry info. - but we didn't know how else to tell people! No one calls us...and it's tiny. STOP JUDGING). And there is a mini card explaining how the R.S.V.P. card works since we didn't think our grandmas would understand. Oh! And on the back of the card is a removable seal so that you can close the R.S.V.P card.

R.S.V.P.

Venue info.
I also got pictures of my wedding topper! It was made by of Sarah Neuburger from The Small Object. She is the best crafty lady of all time. SO CUTE.

That is precious! LOL I know what you mean. Wedding planning isn't that much fun as we imagined it would be =_= it's all work!! But it's worth it!
Congratulations!! Have a beautiful wedding and a beautiful marriage!!
Aaww thank you! You are so sweet.
Are you getting married soon! How is your planning going?
the hard work was totally worth it! they're lovely & unique & i'd love to get an invitation like that in the mail!
Oh my, these things are amazing! Plan the wedding is so cool, i loved it!! Congratulations!
Phew! That's a lot of work! The invites look absolutely beautiful! And that's the best bride and groom topping I've ever seen!
Your wedding topper is stunning, look at that beard, he looks cheeky!
I love the invitations and the photostrip! (Mine, years and years ago, was a hasty, self-done hand-written affair, stuffed any old way into mis-matched envelopes and sent off. Now of course I am sorry that I never planned it properly and didn't take more care to make it beautiful ...)
OMG those invitations turned out beautiful! And the cake topper = the best ever! Yay, congrats!
Thanks everyone!
I just hopped over from Sarah's blog because the wedding topper she made for you is tooo cute. I love your invites! The decorative border is a great touch!

Thanks! :D
Hi Michelle - where did you get all the components to build your invitation from? It is just what I'm looking for.

Hey Kirsty,
I got most of the paper from Paper Source http://www.paper-source.com/
I think I got the light blue cardstock from Michaels.
Hi Michelle - thanks so much for the response - I really appreciate it, and hope you don't mind if I steal some of your ideas - it's beautiful x
Hello - can you tell me how you made the perforated RSVP card? My mom and I have been racking our brains and can't figure it out! Thank you!
Hey Kelly,
I will try to explain!
First I printed the RSVP card front and back and folded it like a regular card.
Then the top piece has the holes punched in it for the threading at the top. I think the overall size is probably 1" tall. Then I used a perforated blade on my paper cutter (like this: http://www.amazon.com/Fiskars-93548097-Rotary-Perforating-Blade/dp/B0006HUJ0I) and made a perforated line about .25" from the bottom.
Then I used double sided tape on the card and taped the it to the bottom section so that the card could be torn off at the perforation. The back side of the card will show the extra taped on .25" of cardstock.
If you didn't want a folded card you could just print the card and use the perforation blade at the top - then it would just be like a postcard!
Hope this helps!
