Theme: Scenes From Daily Life • No. 9-15

Oof - it's been a long week! I'm finishing up product boards for Crowded Teeth, and I went to the trade shows (for my day job) in Vegas for a day.

I started the South Beach diet this week. My dude, J, is also doing it - he wants to lose weight so I thought I would be supportive. Plus I could stand to lose a few. It totally sucks - for the first 2 weeks there are no carbs. I miss sugar a lot - but I'm also paranoid that I am diabetic so maybe this is a good thing. I should go to the doctor.

I am not really enjoying this month's theme. I feel like half of them are coming out crappy. I know it's just kind of a combo of the other themes, but with the other ones I could plan ahead with what I was going to draw.

No. 9
J and I went to the Murakami exhibit at the MOCA since it was closing this week. It was awesome. I was super impressed with the statues and the mushroom paintings. So pretty! The Geffen part of the MOCA is right in Little Tokyo - so we had lunch and ran around a little bit. The drawing is of cute little Japanese girls I saw running around - and the 'Good Morning' is just a tie in from the Murakami stuff since they were playing the Kanye West video for his song 'Good Morning' that Murakami did all the art for.

No. 10
I did site updates all day and took pictures of my products. I just got this new fancy camera and I'm still learning all the tricks. I really like how this came out.

No. 11
This is the front of my house. Only in real life there is a mailbox next to the tree, right now the tree is bare, and it doesn't really have a face. But it's close, right?
When I get home from work it's just barely light out. I can't wait for it to be light outside completely! Hooray for Spring time!

No. 12
My lady friends and I went out for ramen. I got it separated and just didn't eat the noodles. So unsatisfying! This is J and Jennifer (J is the redhead - the same one I drew in last week's "JERK" picture, and Jennifer is the brunette). I used to work with Jennifer but she is movin' on to bigger and better things! We went out to dinner right before her move.

No. 13
I got on a plane today to go to Vegas. I guess I could have drawn a picture of me drinking with my co-workers at swanky Vegas clubs, but this was much easier. It was good to go out and actually have fun with the people that I work with. The little yellow house is mine - the light is on because J is still at home.

No. 14
Walking the trade shows all day killed my feet. I tried to be cute and wear these yellow flats, but they were destroying me. You would think that my lesson would have been learned last time - my shoes messed up my feet so bad that 2 of my toenails eventually fell off (totally gross, I know) - but no.

These are my feet - but they aren't. My actual feet have Junko Mizuno tattoos on them. But they are my feet because my toenails are red, my second toe is longer than my big toe, they are covered in bandaids and pain, and they are very upset with me.

On an aside - I flew back to LA after walking the shows and it was exhausting. When I got home J had cards, flowers and dinner ready for me. So sweet. After eating I fell asleep on the couch with half a fudgesicle in my mouth and didn't wake up until 7am.

No. 15
Traffic was unbelievable today! I had to exit the freeway early and take streets to get home, and my normal 35-45 minute drive turned into 2 HOURS. Hell on Earth!

all these are great - what a nice way to illustrate your life (literally!)
Also it makes the boring and mundane things like sore feet and long journeys from work a bit more interesting.
Re your sore feet - my feet also hate me. The only thing they like are crocs and flip flops - not always great for the weather in the UK :o(

These are awesome! My feet hurt too... and my back and head, and everything else. Those shows are just TOO exhausting! But I did get to meet you (yay!) and thank you again for the adorable necklace!! <3

Oh, and if your feet are covered in Junkos, then they are the bestest feet in the world!
